Done and Done: Steelers vs Bengals Round 2 Recap

That's it for the Steelers 2012 season. I know there is one game left against the Browns, but the season is over, no playoffs this year.

Steelers 10

Bengals 13

The Steelers had signs of greatness, then just looked like crap. Hard to believe with all the weapons on offense the Steelers struggled to put up points. Especially once the defense got their act together and went on damn near lockdown of teams. The offense really just stank up the joint. Not really sure how else to describe the Steelers offense this year other than crap.

And whatever they need to do this off-season to get back to championship form, they need to get it done.

Bengals didn't do shit today, but best of luck in the playoffs. You're not making it next year.

Hog Tied: Steelers vs Cowboys Recap

I know, it's a picture of Flacco being all sad. It makes me smile, even though the Ravens got in the playoffs because the Steelers lost to the Cowgirls.

Steelers 24

Cowboys 27

Puke vomit barf.

The Steelers got off to a slow start, then slowly clawed their way back and took the lead and they were about to put the nail in the Cowboys coffin. When all of a sudden, Antonio Brown fumbles the ball on what would have been a really good punt return. That was it. After looking back, the Steelers were just done after that play. I know they went to overtime, but it was really pointless. The team just deflated.

Steelers NEED to win against the Bengals next week if they want a shot at the playoffs. This season has truly been a waste of the talent that is on the Steelers sidelines up to this point. It's a real shame.

Good luck Steelers, you're gonna need it.

Puke: Steelers vs Chargers Recap

I didn't do a Steelers - Ravens Round 2 "recap", because I just didn't OK! GAWD!!!

Yesterday, the Chargers came into town and pulled a win out of Rivers trash-talking ass.

Steelers 24

Chargers 34

And for the second time in this 2012 NFL Season an incomplete pass by Ben Roethlisberger is somehow ruled a fumble and recovered/returned for a touchdown. Blows my mind really. I just don't get how the refs blew those calls, I get the replacement refs bumbling those calls but not the "pros".

Field position is key in the NFL, and when you're constantly starting on your own 10 bad things are going to happen. I've read a few articles saying the Steelers couldn't get into a good rhythm on offense. True, they didn't, but the WRs dropping balls, dumb holding penalties don't help either. Mike Wallace finally came to life when it didn't matter. I hope he was happy he had over a 100 yards and 2 TDs in junk time, because I'm not.

Three games to go, the Steelers need to win out for the 6th seed.

A loss and they're done, which is a shame because that defense is being stingy this year and when the offense is on they can dominate.

Ouchies: Steelers vs Chiefs Recap

Still find it hard to believe that Ben got hurt from that hit. I've seen that man take hits that would have knocked other QBs out for the year. And that it took overtime to beat the Chiefs.

Steelers 16

Chiefs 13

Way off my outlandish prediction for sure. But the way the Steelers had been playing, I thought they would run away with the game. Running is something the Steelers couldn't do at all, in fact even with Ben the offense was pretty stale last night night. No running game and the lack of Antonio Brown didn't help at all. The Steelers offense was just off their game last night and it was hard to watch.

Despite the fact that the Chiefs seemed to be able to run at will on the defense they just couldn't move the ball when needed. The bend not break mentality of the Steelers D right there. Plus in the fourth quarter the D stepped up when the offense couldn't move the ball and got a take away at the right time. A win is a win in the NFL, and this game could have went the other way the AFC West dominance over the Steelers this season isn't going to happen.

Good thing I was drinking during the game though, I needed that numbness.

Tuck Rule need not apply: Steelers vs Giants Recap

I remember the game when the Tuck Rule came into play. I was confused as all hell, since it was a fumble in its truest sense. For some reason the NFL allowed this. Well, yesterday the NFL confused the hell out of me again, when they ruled a forward pass a fumble, and at the very least neglected the tuck rule. I had no idea the replacement refs were back.

Steelers 24

Giants 20

Steelers dominated the game, but you couldn't tell that by the score. A score in which I was a few points away from being dead on. Yeah. I rule. Another running back goes down, and another steps up and has an awesome day. I had no idea Dwyer was even hurt, shows how much I pay attention at times, but Redman put on a great show at running back for the Steelers yesterday. That guy just runs so well in a straight line. Send him to the outside and he's a poop sandwich. That's right a poop sandwich. If all the running backs for the Steelers get healthy, they'll have 500 yards a game on the ground.

When Antonio Brown went out, I was scared, he's the go to guy. But luckily Cotchery/Sanders really stepped up and Mike Wallace finally had an explosive play. Sorry, I'm busting his balls all season until he can show me he's a #1 Wide Receiver. That "fumble" just killed me, and the fact they upheld the call was ridiculous.

The defense was fierce, not a lot of pressure, but they sure did get the Giants offense off the field on third downs. Lewis had a great game defending too, he really stepped up. Just a great effort by the Steelers defense. James Harrison needs to fall on that fumble though, don't try to be a hero, you already are for recovering a fumble.

And I loved the fake field goal attempt. Why not??? If Heath blocks the initial defender, it's at least a first down. I love that Tomlin goes for it on 4th downs and makes a decision like this. And you should too!

Officials made some really bad calls, seriously they need to be full-time employees of the NFL.

Take that! Steelers vs Redskins Recap

The Bees...er...Steelers took on the rookie RG3 led Redskins. Poor kid.

Steelers 27

Redskins 12

I have to say, the game was pretty much all Steelers. I never really thought the Redskins had a chance. Maybe if the Skins had some better wide receivers they could have kept up. Even though I heard it endlessly throughout the game, Griffin can put the ball only where his guy can get it. AND if they Redskins can build a team around him, they might be dangerous some day. Build a defense.

I thought both the offense and defense played well today. Not playing down to their opponent which the Steelers like to do. Nothing to complain about this week with the Steelers. Dwyer is going to be a beast though, and with the speedster Rainey. That looks to be a great 1-2 punch in the years to come.

Oh, and I was close again!! I rule. Getting back on my game.

That's how you do it. Steelers vs Bengals Round 1 Recap

I have to say, once the game started I wasn't expecting the outcome of this game to go the way of the Steelers. I was wrong and I have no problem with that.

Steelers 24

Bengals 17

I was somewhat close!!! I RULE!!!

Dwyer is a beast, plain and simple. If all the running backs for the Steelers get healthy, he has to be number 2 on the depth chart and possibly taking over the number 1 spot next year. Especially if he gets the reps this season.

As for Mike Wallace. Really man, I mean you want paid, but yet you're dropping balls left and right and not doing half of what Antonio Brown is doing. Get it together and start playing your heart out if you want to be a champion. Or if you just want that money, have fun wasting your career with a non-contender.

I've been on the time for LeBeau to retire train this year, and that's not going to go away. But they starting playing the way they should last night. Really thought the Bengals were just going to do whatever they wanted after that first drive, which was just painful to watch.

Oh, and stop holding on the punt/kick returns. It's annoying and putting your offense in bad spots. Thanks.

Clipped. Steelers vs Eagles Recap

I got one part of my prediction right, and was close with another.

Steelers 16

Eagles 14

Really ugly game by the Steelers, too many penalties, missed opportunities. I'll say this, Lawrence Timmons showed up to the game and put on a stellar defensive performance. The return of Mendenhall was great, had no idea how important he was to the running game.

The Eagles really should have owned that game, but they're coached by Andy Reid and QB'd by Michael Vick. I mean, your goal line game plan is a QB draw? Maybe years ago when Vick was young, but even then when you have McCoy you give the ball to him. Such a waste of talent, Eagles may finally be a decent team if they drop Reid, but I hope they make the playoffs and lose in round 1 so he stays the head coach for a little longer.

Oh, and Mike Wallace. You need to step up your game if you want to get paid. As far as I'm concerned you have done very little to impress me so far this season. Show that you're worth it or nobody in Pittsburgh will miss you and you'll be stuck playing for a non-playoff contender the rest of your short career.

Gah! Steelers vs Raiders Recap

So someone was way off on their prediction. Not sure who that was

Steelers 31

Raiders 34

I didn't get to see the whole game, since CBS and the NFL had to show the overtime games of the Saints-Chiefs and then the Jets-Dolphins before switching over to the Steelers-Raiders game. I missed the entire first quarter. I have the Sunday Ticket and the game was blacked there, since it was to be on the local feed. Kind of pissed me off. Was not too happy about missing any part of the game, considering I'm paying for the games. If it's not on the on local feed, I should be able to watch it on the Sunday Ticket. I was able to in Week 2! Dicks.

To the game, Steelers defense was shitastic. Zero pressure on Palmer and missing assignments left and right. The two turnovers by the Steelers on offense really hurt. Really wasted a great performance by Ben yesterday. Bye week this week, the defense needs to get it together this week. And oh I don't know, maybe change some things while the game is going on. I said it before, I'll say it again. Maybe it's time for Lebeau to be done. He's had a great run with the Steelers, but more and more I think the defense is becoming a tad stale over the past few years. Just sayin' kids.

The photoshop is totally worth it, but I can't hate. Janikowski has been a really good kicker for years.

Biggity Bam! Steelers vs Jets Recap

Ouch, looks like that hurt there Sanchez, not as bad as your stat line though 10 for 27, 138 yards 1 TD.

Jets came out early and showed some spark, but the Steelers D really stepped up and eventually shut the Jets down. And some help with Sanchez being the horrible QB that he has come to show us from last season. Maybe he'll be a good backup for the Jets.

Issac Redman needs to just run straight, nothing fancy for that guy. When he runs right up the middle the guy is a beast, but when he tries to do the fancy footwork forget it. Ben was on point, being the QB he's suppose to be.

Trying to do a recap almost 24 hours after a game just doesn't work for me, you get what you get and no funny photoshops!

Oh snap - Steelers vs Broncos Recap

Not the best way you want to start an NFL season, but it's week 1 I kind of hope my team has a few issues to overcome. Makes them stronger down the road.

Steelers 19

Broncos 31

I'll give credit where credit is due. Peyton looked good last night. I thought he would have been way off coming into week 1, but I was wrong. To be honest, he's got to be on early in the season. Since he's not playing in a dome anymore, let's see how he does in a few months.

As for the Steelers. I don't get why the defensive scheme seemingly doesn't change at all when the opposing offense is picking them apart. The Broncos go into no huddle and just start moving down the field. At some point, oh I don't know when they get to the 50 yard line, you know...maybe call a timeout...give your guys some rest...substitute some players...call different plays...maybe? I love Dick Lebeau, but I'm getting ready for his retirement. Sorry. He's been great, but you know, time to move on.

There I said it.

As for the offense, gotta score touchdowns not kick field goals. Like you didn't know that already. I like Dwyer, guy is a powerful runner. Get him more carries. Redman needs to stop that spinning, he's not fast enough to pull that off, just run up the field man. Other than that, I feel they played well for week one, really wish the offensive line could just not get hurt multiple times in one game for a change.
