I knew this day would come.
Hines Ward, Aaron Smith, and James Farrior could only play for the Steelers for so long. I don't have to like, but the time has come. Those guys played their asses off for the Steelers and will be remembered as some of the greats.
I'm about half hoping everyone passes on Hines Ward and the Steelers can bring him back at the veteran minimum for one more season so he can retire a Steeler. If he plays for another team next year it'll just be wrong.
Farrior, he's slowed down a lot this past season, but at 37 the guy had a great season, great career. At this point he's eating up a roster spot.
Smith, really sucks he's had injury issues the past few seasons. I could have seen him playing a little while longer. Rotating on the line while the younger defensive lineman gain some experience.
I'm sure there will be more, but these guys were just stalwarts at their respected positions.
Happy Trails. You'll be missed.
