SMcGPs - Steelers vs Ravens Round 1 - 2016
This photoshop only works if Ben plays on Sunday. Weapon Ben has to have some sort of healing factor in his DNA. Plus I'm doing my prediction on a Wednesday, trying to change things up a little.

Steely McGnome Predicts: Steelers vs Ravens Round 2
Steelers had an impressive win last week against the Broncos, let us hope they did not use up all of their magic for the Ravens game. The first game this season was a gift for the Ravens. The Steelers best not gift another one.

Steely McGnome Predicts: Steelers vs Ravens Round 1
Make the bold prediction last week and it blows up in my face, but again no one had any idea Ben would go down in the 3rd quarter. They were moving the ball through the air, just not on the ground.
This week the Ravens on Thursday night, yay!! another Thursday night in a months time. /endsarcasm
Hey I need my sleep.
Vick led offense...

The ONLY two good things from Super Bowl XLVII
That's right only two good things came out of the most recent Super Bowl.
And they are:
1 - Ray Lewis is finally done playing football. I don't have to hear about his dumb ass anymore, yeah he was good and all. But his play wasn't all that great the for the past 8 years. Go away. Thanks.
2 - This is now two Super Bowl wins for the original Cleveland franchise. Had the city given in to Art Modell demands, they probably would have two Super Bowl victories to their woeful franchise. Cleveland Browns 2.0 has been a constant revolving door at like every thing and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Hahahahhahahahahahhahaaaahhahahahaha Take that Cleveland!!!
Go Steelers.

Steely McGnome Predicts: Steelers vs Ravens Round 2
Again, I'm being somewhat lazy by re-using an older image, but it's just too damn funny. It looks like the running back is staring at Flacco's backside and is amazed by it. Plus I just got a new computer and I'm sorting all of that out, you'll deal.

Early Christmas Presents: Steelers vs Ravens Round 1
Another week, and another Steelers QB goes down.
Steelers 10
Ravens 13
I would have had the score dead on, but Mike Wallace and his wannabe #1 Wide Receiver money wanting ass made two crucial mistakes in the game. First fumbling a 3rd down catch that would have been 1st down and set the Ravens up for 3. Then Wallace failed to drag his foot on a back of the end zone pass that would have given the Steelers the lead. Am I being too hard on Mike Wallace? Hell and no. He held out because he thought he deserved #1 Wide Receiver money, and has not shown that he is even a #3 WR this season. He'll have fun playing on a shitty team next season. I am questioning his effort this season.
The Steelers should have had this game in the bag, they really dropped the ball against the Ravens. Because that was one of the worst Ravens defenses I have ever scene play against the Steelers. Their special teams were on point, but that defense is really off this year.
Other than that, it was a hard hitting Steelers-Ravens match-up, a kind of game most people find boring, but I love.
Oh and the off-sides penalty at 2:04 in the 4th quarter was a bunch of crap. The blindside dick flinched. Go back and watch it, you'll see.

Gut Check: Steelers vs Ravens Round 2 Recap

Ravens 23 Steelers 20
Ugh.
Swept by the Ravens this season. Awesome. Not really, I hate when the Steelers lose to the Ravens, especially when they just give the game away like they did last night. Take the lead, stop the Ravens, get the ball back and can't get a first down. Fine, pin the Ravens back deep, with just a little over 2 minutes, defense can't stop them and let them march down the field and score a touchdown to win the game.
Other than that I thought the Steelers played a solid game on offense and defense. The offensive line played really well, keeping Ben upright at least. That was a positive. The defense did alright, not nearly enough pressure on Flacco. That pressure is needed against any Quarterback in the NFL, no pressure on them and they'll look like the greatest QB in the world, even if they're not.
Enjoy it Ravens Fans, it doesn't happen often.
The Refs
This does not happen often. I do not like to complain about officiating. They do not determine the outcome of a game, the players and the execution of the plays do. However, I do have a problem with one of the plays last night that did not receive a flag, the hit Ray Lewis put on Hines Ward. Lewis leads with his helmet and makes contact. No flag, but Ryan Clark gets a flag for doing the same thing, and he should have, not saying that was wrong of the refs just saying you need to call it across the board not just when it suits the refs.
I know the NFL is concerned about concussions with the helmet to helmet hits, but the sometimes happens because of the angles players take. I feel as if both of those plays were results of that. Again, if you're going to call it on one and not the other that just doesn't sit right with me.
Announcing
Sunday Night Football on NBC, Al Michaels and Chris Douchenworth. Double Puke.
Bonus Photoshop this week
Elisha Manning and the New York Giants drove down the field near the end of the game to take the lead and beat the New England Patriots. And what did Elisha Manning get for this, well take a look.

Steely McGnome Predicts: Steelers vs Ravens Take 3 Playoff Edition

Here we go, welcome to playoff Steely McGnome Predicts. Same as the regular season Steely McGnome Predicts except now with sprinkles.
I kid, I kid.
The Ravens come up to Pittsburgh for round 3 this season in the start of the divisional this Saturday at 4:30. Over the past few years most of these contests have been some of the best games you'll ever watch. I love them, but at the same time they take about a year off my life. That last minute crap is just a killer for the fans of either team, but great for football.
I don't think it'll be that way this Saturday.

Damn, that was a game - Steelers vs Ravens recap
Damn. When I think of a good NFL game, this game between the Steelers vs Ravens is what I think of. Hard hitting, tough defense, last minute heroics.
Would be great if the NFL officials could actually get their damn act together. Two illegal hits and no flags, how does that happen these days. Since they flag legal hits half the time. Good to know they at least fined the Ravens for those hits. Hines Ward is right, someone is going to lose a game in the playoffs because the Refs can't get it right.
Ben really had to get use to his foot being in that shoe boot, and it showed in the first half. The announcers wouldn't let you forgot about it either, god I hate Chris Collinsworth. I swear they had one camera guy just focusing on Ben's foot. So annoying. Ben got on the right path in the second half, plus it helped his receivers started catching the ball on 3rd down.
At first it looked like the defense was going to let the Ravens pass all over them. But, again they showed up and started shutting them down. Frickin McFadden, better get it together you've been taking a beating this season. Troy came up big in another game against the Ravens, seems like he always makes a difference in those types of games. Gotta say, it was nice to have Keisel back, although the Defensive line has been holding it's own with Aaron Smith and Keisel out. Ziggy Hood was a good choice.
As much as I hate the Ravens, I look forward to the games between these two teams.

BREAKING NEWS!
The Baltimore Ravens have changed their uniforms for the 2009 NFL season. This change comes after the request of the Ravens NOT to play a primetime game in Pittsburgh this upcoming season.
Ray Lewis models their new uniforms.
