Wildcard Playoffs - Steelers vs Bengals: Round 3

Sorry Ravens, you may have beaten the Steelers twice this year but you failed to keep them from the playoffs. Many thanks to the Bills taking care of the Jets or should we really thank Ryan Fitzpatrick for turning back into Ryan Fitzpatrick at the best possible time?

Shades of 2006. Steelers going into Cincy as the number 6 seed, a Peyton Manning led team waiting in the divisional round at the 1 seed. Where and the hell is Jake Plumber???

And it continues: Week 2 Recap: Steelers vs Bengals Round 1

Well well well. The offense showed a little more life this week, but still continues to struggle running the ball, sustaining drives, scoring points, you know all the stuff a decent offense will do. Hopefully the offense gets moving next week.

I know there was a bad call that kind of killed a drive, but good teams overcome bad calls and the
Steelers are not a good team right now. Overall. The defense and special teams are playing fairly decent at this point. But you know, not winning kind of sucks, and it's still early so on to week 3. Go read a better recap somewhere else.

Oh, and I got the score right. Just the wrong teams.

Steely McGnome Predicts: Bengals vs Steelers Round 1

Division rival game versus the Bengals this week, and one pissed off James Harrison because the Steelers didn't want to continue to pay him. Oh and he's older and has back problems, he's just lucky a team actually signed him. Good luck to him, not really just being nice. 

This week the Steelers faced the ginger haired led Bengals, and it looks like his evil twin does not approve of being decapitated by Woodley. Guess we'll really find out Monday Night.

That's it for the Steelers 2012 season. I know there is one game left against the Browns, but the season is over, no playoffs this year.

The Steelers had signs of greatness, then just looked like crap. Hard to believe with all the weapons on offense the Steelers struggled to put up points. Especially once the defense got their act together and went on damn near lockdown of teams. The offense really just stank up the joint. Not really sure how else to describe the Steelers offense this year other than crap. 

And whatever they need to do this off-season to get back to championship form, they need to get it done. 

Bengals didn't do shit today, but best of luck in the playoffs. You're not making it next year.

Steely McGnome Predicts: Steelers vs Bengals Round 2

This is the start of the playoffs for the Steelers 2012 season. A loss and they're done, Bengals seem a little more hungry than the Steelers do, since the Steelers have had way too many chances to seal the playoff deal, but the lack of leadership on this team is something terrible.

I have to say, once the game started I wasn't expecting the outcome of this game to go the way of the Steelers. I was wrong and I have no problem with that.

I was somewhat close!!! I RULE!!!

Dwyer is a beast, plain and simple. If all the running backs for the Steelers get healthy, he has to be number 2 on the depth chart and possibly taking over the number 1 spot next year. Especially if he gets the reps this season.

As for Mike Wallace. Really man, I mean you want paid, but yet you're dropping balls left and right and not doing half of what Antonio Brown is doing. Get it together and start playing your heart out if you want to be a champion. Or if you just want that money, have fun wasting your career with a non-contender.

I've been on the time for LeBeau to retire train this year, and that's not going to go away. But they starting playing the way they should last night. Really thought the Bengals were just going to do whatever they wanted after that first drive, which was just painful to watch.

Oh, and stop holding on the punt/kick returns. It's annoying and putting your offense in bad spots. Thanks.

I think I was expecting more of a fight out of the Bengals, especially since they did just a few weeks ago. But thankfully they did not, that second quarter was great. 28 points by the Steelers and they never looked back. Although it's at that point when I miss that power running game where they would just grind clock and never let the other team have a chance. Then I realize the Steelers won zero Super Bowls (in my time) with that game plan.

I had to watch this game from some on the internet, some british feed. Annoying, at just about every commercial break they would discuss plays like at half-time. Lame. So I didn't get to enjoy the game in HD, but in really crappy internet feed. So honestly it was kind of hard to get a good read on the game. The defense played well. The offense played well. Special Teams were awesome. Plus a HUGE bonus, two weeks of Ike Taylor Interceptions. He must be practicing on catching footballs.

Aside from the lame British show, we had Jim Nance and Phil Simms. Ugh, at one point Phil Simms was going on and on about the Bengals and the Playoffs for some reason. So damn annoying, just call the game Phil! Seriously, how does this guy get to be on the number 1 announcing team. He sucks. He sucks real bad.

Had you told me at the beginning of the season that this match-up between the Steelers and Bengals would have been an important game with playoff intentions. I would have just laughed at you and I would have been wrong.

Well, well, look at that. Got the opponent score right again. I'm halfway there to getting it right. This game really looked like a blowout in the first quarter, Steelers leading 14-0. Then late in the first quarter, boom the Bengals drive get a TD and make me sit on the edge of my seat the rest of the game.

The Steelers offense/defense was once again really hot then really cold. I swear there was zero pressure on the ginger quarterback. The defense rarely pressured him, you can't let any QB just sit in the pocket and have time. Gotta get more pressure on the Quarterbacks you face Steelers Defense. DO IT!!!

Willie Gay was playing with a chip on his shoulder this week. He needs to play like that every week. The pick at the end of the game was awesome. Pretty much sealing the game for the Steelers.

Loving Antonio Brown more and more each week, that guy made some great catches, he's only going to get better. And at some point, Wallace and Brown are going to break one of those short passes for a TD, those guys are just too fast not to. Running game was decent, didn't seem like they got a 100 yards on the ground, but they did. I say that, because although it makes me sick to my stomach, the bengals defense played pretty well today, so did their offense. In no way am I going to say that Dalton is a good QB (I just don't do that for rookie QBs), but he played a good game. We'll see how well he's doing in 3 seasons before I crown him a decent QB. But really the Bengals needed to get rid of those me-first players. They're a better team without them.

Steely McGnome Predicts: Steelers vs Bengals take 2

Steelers take on the Bengals for the second time this weekend. Last game the Steelers had a big lead that they decided to blow in the 4th quarter and were very close to losing. But the Defense stepped up and did their job.

Could this be the last time Palmer faces the Steelers in a Bengals uniform? I hope so, go to the UFL loser.

This week the Steelers travel into Bungle territory to face the dynamic duo and Carson Palmer, elite NFL Quarterback.

This is a big game for both teams, the bungles need to start climbing out of the basement and the Steelers need to keep pace with the stupid Ravens.

TO and Oincho will no doubt be a great duo in the NFL for years to come...

Oh wait, probably not. Maybe for one season, but it will be the season that's the greatest for the Bungles since TO is the missing piece to their championship woes.

No, he's not. I'm not going to doubt his athleticism or that he's a very good WR. But to think that he's the piece you've been waiting for is ridiculous. I always thought that Johnson, Houshmandlakczahod, and Henry were a dangerous group of receivers and the bungs wasted that. Plus it takes more than just adding 1 person to your offense, unless it's a great QB on an already decent offense, to get you to the promise land.

Have fun Bengal fans, all you're going to get this year is a bunch of shenanigans from two WR who only care about themselves.
